Classroom Management

  • Structure: Routine where they know where to turn things in, there's predictability in the classroom structure with flexibility for student input. What we will be doing that day and learning goals will be on the board and calendar of upcoming events and classroom activities.

  • Use of Call-to-attention especially in noisy environments when students are running scenes and monologues.

  • Classroom will be tidy even with organized chaos that comes with the Theatre classroom environment. Students concentrate better in cleaner environments. There will be a calming atmosphere even with the reputation of theatre classrooms being a place of chaos.

  • Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs- I will incorporate a "Self Care/ Take What You Need Station" with hygiene products, granola bars, bandaids, and extra school supplies so that their needs may be met so that they may learn at an easier rate.
